Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator / MLO Job Description:
Continually identify, develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.
Provide exceptional customer service while adhering to all Good Friend Mortgage, state/federal mortgage laws and underwriting guidelines
Take complete loan applications and analyze applicant information to determine whether the client is likely to qualify for the desired loan program
Provide guidance on the risks and benefits of the different programs available to the borrower to determine the “best fit” loan program suitable to client’s needs and propose how best to structure a loan to gain approval.
Complete the loan application and gathering the necessary paperwork, including pay stubs, tax returns and bank statements to begin the loan process.
Pulling credit and providing analysis of credit worthiness as it relates to loan approval guidelines for selected loan program, obtaining DU/LP approval.
Approve mortgage loans by examining application and supporting documentation; estimating credit-worthiness; calculating repayment risk.
Gather all initial documentation required based upon the applicants selected loan program, including all disclosure requirements
Ability to work with and apply basic mathematical concepts such percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex income and loan documents.
Proactively respond to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make appropriate recommendations to diverse clientele base
Work with Loan Processing to obtain Clear to Close , attend client closings (no better place to market yourself than at a successful closing with agents and referral sources in the room)
Continuing Education: Keep abreast of newer loan products to better assist clients’ needs and share that information with other team members
Must be proficient using:
Internet/Web-based lender portals, use of pricing engines, Outlook, Word, Excel and Scanning. Solid knowledge of Mortgage Loan processing and familiarity with Encompass is helpful.
Must be personable, posses good communicaton skills and work ethic, and work well with clients.
